Training Contracts With Napthens
Napthens is a developing legal practice with offices in Preston, Longridge, Blackburn, Chorley and Blackpool which we are keen to develop.
Students often write to us with a CV in the hope of securing a training contract or with a view to registering their interest in working with Napthens. As a practice we are grateful for this interest and note each one in detail. We have resolved to retain all enquiries which we will review in January of each year. At that time we will assess our recruitment needs and compile a shortlist of potential recruits based on:
• a minimum 2:1 degree in an academic subject
• clear examples of client / customer relationships
• a proven ability to deliver successful projects
• a clear ability to work within a team structure
• commercial awareness within Legal practice
• clear communication skills and
• competency with IT facilities
Even where these criteria are matched, additional qualities can often be applied by the requirements of the Division seeking to recruit a trainee within our Firm. These criteria will then result in short-listing a of applicants who will be invited for a formal interview with the Training Partner and Head of Human Resources.
Whilst we as a Firm, appreciate that Training Contracts can be reduced through the Law Society's 'Time to Count' scheme, it is our policy that unless there are exceptional circumstances, Trainees will all undertake a 2-year Training Contract.
